Floating shelves {Home Decor}

I am so thrilled to share this with all of you! My living room wall was looking pretty bare since I got rid of the entertainment center and moved my couches around, so it was the perfect time to get creative. I have been thinking about putting up floating shelves on this wall for awhile now, and with the great prices and shelves I found at Ikea, I just had to give it a try.

First of all, sorry for the mess you see in the picture, and the not so great quality of the picture, I just wanted to show the before picture.

You see how big and lonely that wall looks, it just needs a little love, and my LACK wall shelves from Ikea fit the bill perfectly (if I do say so myself).

With the wall being so large, I felt it needed more than one shelf and to balance it out, I went with the basic triangle shape for the placement of the shelves. I really wanted my candle holder to be in the center and on the top shelf, which is why we went with the placement and height.

I have a lot of photos already on my shelves, but there are more I am looking to add to the walls....I am thinking that is another project for another day. Maybe I will put the word "Family" under the large shelf and then put the pictures around it, or ??? That is part of the fun of creating your own space!
